Closing Chapter Home Pet Euthanasia is dedicated to providing compassionate, in-home end-of-life care for beloved pets and their families in Albuquerque and surrounding areas.
We believe every pet deserves a peaceful, dignified farewell surrounded by the people who love them most. Our mission is to support families through this difficult time with empathy, respect, and expert veterinary care.
Dr. Kelli Bays, DVM, MPH, founded Closing Chapter alongside her husband, Nathan Bays, Ph.D., after many years in
general veterinary practice. Her calling is to help pets and their families find comfort, peace, and
understanding in their final moments together.
The inspiration for this practice came after the loss of her beloved Welsh terrier, Albus. While his passing was
heartbreaking, helping him go peacefully at home reaffirmed her commitment to providing that same care for
others in Albuquerque.
Dr. Kelli and her husband live in Albuquerque with their miniature schnauzer, Aegon. In their free time, they
enjoy
hiking and birdwatching throughout New Mexico.
We are honored to help you and your pet with compassion and care.
Dr. Kelli previously held specialized Fear-Free certifications that trained her to ensure your pet's final moments are filled with comfort, not fear. Her past training in these Fear-Free methodologies equipped her with techniques to provide the gentlest, most compassionate treatment possible during end-of-life care. These certifications reflected her deep commitment to honoring the human-animal bond by minimizing stress and maximizing peace for both pets and their families during this sacred time.
